What qualifies as an emergency electrical repair situation?

An emergency electrical repair is any situation that creates an immediate shock or fire risk, active equipment failure, or a sudden loss of essential power. The most common triggers are overheated components, damaged wiring, or a fault that keeps a breaker from holding. If a breaker won’t reset after one firm attempt, don’t force it—contacts can arc and worsen the damage.

Call right away if you notice any of the following:

  • Burning smells or smoke from a panel or outlet
  • Exposed wires or visible sparks
  • Breakers that trip and won’t reset
  • A sudden outage or partial loss of power

Our team routinely addresses these problems for homeowners throughout the Reading area. If any of these occur, shut off the affected circuit or the main and keep people clear until a licensed electrician inspects it.
